SMALLRIG TRIBEX Carbon II Carbon Fiber Tripod

The SmallRig x Potato Jet TRIBEX Carbon II is a carbon fiber video tripod with an oil-damped head, designed for efficient use on location and on set. The model features X-Clutch hydraulic technology, which allows you to extend all legs, adjust their angle, and lock them automatically with a single motion, so setting up the tripod takes about a second. The tripod offers a height range of 27 to 168 cm, a head load capacity of up to 6 kg, a four-stage counterbalance system, and smooth, stepless resistance adjustment during panning and tilting. The carbon fiber construction combines high stability with a relatively low weight, and when folded, the tripod is 79 cm long, making it easy to transport in standard luggage.

X-Clutch System – Quick Tripod Setup

The X-Clutch hydraulic system allows you to control all three legs simultaneously using a single mechanism. When squeezed, the legs can be quickly extended, adjusted to the ground, and then automatically locked in place, without having to adjust each section separately. The mechanism can also be set at a 45° or 90° angle, which helps adapt the tripod’s position to various shooting conditions and unconventional shots.

Carbon Fiber Construction and Wide Height Range

The legs and center column are made of carbon fiber, which reduces the weight of the structure while maintaining adequate rigidity and stability. The tripod weighs approximately 3.8 kg and can operate at heights ranging from 27 to 168 cm, making it suitable for both standard filming and shots taken close to the ground. The center column is equipped with a quick-lock system, allowing you to adjust the height without time-consuming adjustments.

Oil-filled head with 4-stage counterbalance

The kit includes a compact hydraulic head with a four-stage counterbalance system set to 0, 1, 2, and 3. With a center of gravity located at a height of 55 mm, the system stabilizes rigs weighing up to 6 kg, helping you maintain control over your camera or camcorder while adjusting the tilt angle. The tilt range is from -65° to +90°, so the head allows you to comfortably pan the camera both downward and high above the horizon.

Smooth panning and adjustable resistance

The head offers stepless resistance adjustment for both tilt and pan movements. This allows the user to tailor the movement characteristics to the weight of the equipment, the pace of the shoot, and their own working style, resulting in more predictable framing. The telescoping handle, adjustable from 23 to 36 cm in length, can be mounted on either the left or right side of the head, making it easy to adapt the setup to your preferred grip.

Touch-and-Go Quick Release and Broad Compatibility

The Touch-and-Go quick-mount system simplifies attaching a camera to the head, as it does not require the typical method of sliding the plate in from the edge. The design is compatible with 501-standard plates and the quick-release mounts used in the DJI RS series, making it easy to switch between a tripod and a gimbal while recording. The head also features three 1/4"-20 threads for mounting accessories such as arms or additional grips.

Ready for Use in Various Conditions

The SmallRig TRIBEX Carbon II is equipped with quick-release rubber feet with integrated spikes, allowing the tripod to adapt to various types of terrain. The maximum load capacity of the tripod frame alone is up to 25 kg with the center column lowered, the head removed, and the legs in a specific position; the head is designed for setups weighing up to 6 kg. When folded, the compact design measures 79 cm in length, making the tripod easier to transport and fitting into standard 28" luggage.
