The SMALLRIG CT25 is an aluminum camera tripod designed for both traditional camera setups and overhead shots—that is, shots taken directly from above. Its center column can function as an extension arm and tilt up to 180°, making it easy to position the camera above the subject, a work surface, or a scene being filmed. The tripod reaches a maximum height of 164 cm, and the ball head supports equipment weighing up to 5 kg; however, when used in overhead mode, its maximum load is 3 kg. The design also allows the column to rotate horizontally 360° during overhead shots, and one of the legs can be converted into a monopod.

Adjustable Boom Arm for Overhead Shots

The central column can be tilted up to 180° and used as a boom arm, allowing the camera to be positioned directly above the subject. This setup is ideal for photographing products, recording instructional videos, cooking videos, crafts, and other scenes requiring a top-down view. The ability to rotate the column horizontally 360° while working in overhead mode allows you to easily change the frame and pan over the subject without having to reposition the entire tripod.

Stable Construction and Quick Setup

The tripod is made of aluminum alloy and ABS plastic, which means that despite weighing approximately 1.6 kg, it maintains a sturdy construction suitable for regular use. The five-section legs are equipped with flip-lock mechanisms—quick-release lever clamps—that streamline tripod setup and height adjustment. The leg design can support a load of up to 10 kg, while the maximum load when used in an overhead configuration is 5 kg. The included hook allows you to suspend an additional load of up to 1 kg when shooting from above, which helps increase the stability of the setup.

Expandable Setup

The included overhead shooting adapter allows you to set up a dual-camera configuration or mount additional equipment, such as a monitor or a small video light. The head is equipped with a 1/4"-20 threaded hole, which can be used to mount additional accessories using compatible arms and mounts. The tripod is compatible with ball heads, video heads, and stabilizers equipped with 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 threads, and the head allows for mounting DSLRs, mirrorless cameras, camera rigs, and equipment using Arca-Swiss plates.
