The SMALLRIG S 70 is a wireless microphone system designed for vlogging, live streaming, interviews, short videos, and travel content. The microphone records audio at 24-bit/48 kHz, offers a signal-to-noise ratio of 70 dB, and supports a maximum sound pressure level of 120 dB SPL. It also features 3-level noise reduction, 5-step gain control, and an automatic limiter that protects the recording from clipping. The kit is compatible with, among other devices, USB-C smartphones and tablets, cameras equipped with a 3.5 mm audio input, UAC-compatible computers, and select Insta360 and DJI Osmo cameras. Battery life with the charging case exceeds 40 hours.

A discreet microphone that doesn’t draw the viewer’s attention

The SMALLRIG S 70 transmitter is designed to be as inconspicuous as possible when clipped to clothing and to avoid drawing the viewer’s attention. Its exterior measures 8.8 × 29 mm, and the entire transmitter weighs just 8.8 g, so it doesn’t weigh down a collar or shirt during recording. The design features a clip made of shape-memory nitinol alloy, allowing for a comfortable fit while maintaining a neat appearance for the person on camera.

Clear Sound and Extensive Adjustment Options

The ATS3031 chipset enables audio recording at a 48 kHz sampling rate and 24-bit depth, preserving high detail in the recorded voice and ambient sounds. There are three noise reduction levels, five gain settings, and three mixing modes—Mono, Safety Track, and Stereo—allowing you to adjust the settings to suit various recording conditions. The automatic limiter responds to sudden volume spikes and reduces the risk of clipping, helping to ensure clear audio even during interviews, field recordings, or dynamic broadcasts.

Nine EQ presets for various applications

The SMALLRIG S 70 offers nine preset EQ settings developed in collaboration with Grammy-winning sound engineer Luca Bignardi. Users can choose from the General, Rich, Bright, Male, Female, Singing, Guitar, Violin, and Ambient, tailoring the sound character to the type of voice or material being recorded. This makes it easy to quickly select the right settings during conversations, singing, instrument recording, or capturing ambient sounds.

Over 40 hours of battery life with the charging case

A single charge provides up to 8 hours of use, making the set ideal for longer recording sessions. When combined with the charging case, the total runtime exceeds 40 hours, which is enough for 2–3 days of intensive use without having to reach for the charger frequently. The case also makes it easy to store and transport the kit’s components, which is especially useful when recording outside the home or studio.
