The SMALLRIG AD-Pro8 4465B is a professional carbon fiber video tripod equipped with a PH8 oil head, a 6-stage counterbalance system, and 4-stage hydraulic damping adjustment. The design is intended for use with equipment weighing between 1 and 8 kg, and the working height can be adjusted from 58 to 196 cm, allowing you to comfortably adjust the camera position for the shot you’re capturing. Quick-release leg locks make adjusting the height easy, while the carbon fiber construction ensures adequate rigidity despite the tripod’s weight of 5.8 kg.

6-stage counterbalance for better control

The PH8 fluid head is equipped with a 6-stage counterbalance system that makes it easy to properly balance a camera, still camera, or a more elaborate film setup. With a center of gravity height of 55 mm, the mechanism allows you to balance equipment weighing up to 8 kg, helping you maintain control over its tilt. The ability to adjust the counterbalance level is particularly useful when working with different equipment configurations, without having to limit yourself to a single camera setup.

Adjustable Pan and Tilt Damping

The head offers independent damping adjustment for horizontal and vertical movement, allowing you to tailor its operation to the nature of the shot you’re capturing. Four settings are available for tilt (0, 1, 2, and 3), while pan can be adjusted in four steps from 1 to 4. This design makes it easy to achieve controlled and smooth camera movements, and the tilt range from +90° to -60° allows you to freely change the perspective while recording.

Quick Setup and Convenient Operation

The tripod legs can be efficiently extended and retracted using snap-lock mechanisms, which reduces the time needed to set up the rig. The PH8 head uses the Touch-and-Go quick-release system, which simplifies equipment installation compared to traditional slide plates. The telescoping handle, which extends from 35 to 53 cm, can be mounted on either the left or right side of the head, allowing you to adjust its position to suit your preferred operating style.

Carbon Fiber Construction and Two Types of Spreaders

The carbon fiber legs provide high rigidity while keeping the tripod’s weight reasonable, which is important when frequently transporting equipment between locations. The design allows for the use of both a center brace and a bottom brace, so the tripod’s setup can be adjusted to the type of surface and available space. Interchangeable flat feet and spiked feet allow you to prepare the tripod for use on various surfaces, and the built-in spirit level makes it easy to level the tripod properly.

Designed for use in the studio and on location

The SMALLRIG AD-Pro8 uses a 75-mm hemispherical adapter and is compatible with Manfrotto 501PL quick-release plates. When folded, the tripod is 97 cm long, making it easier to prepare for transport, and the included bag simplifies storage and protects it during transport. The set also includes a center brace, a bottom brace, a smartphone mount, and an Allen wrench, so you’ll have the accessories you need to adapt the tripod to various shooting conditions.
